Paonia is a small town tucked away in the foothills of the West Elk Mountains. This eclectic spot hosts a variety of local art stores, farms and wineries. The town is located near several coal mines which initially gave the town life, since then it has been discovered by outdoor enthusiasts (hippies).

Nearby airports are Montrose Regional Airport or Grand Junction Regional Airport. From either of these locations it is about a 1.5 hour drive. If coming from Denver, Paonia is usually accessed from the North over McClure Pass.
